Soxhlet Extraction Apparatus is a laboratory device used for the continuous extraction of soluble compounds from solid materials. It is widely applied in chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and environmental laboratories for extracting bioactive compounds, oils, fats, pesticides, and other analytes from complex solid samples.

Main Components:

• Extraction Chamber (Thimble Holder): Holds a porous thimble containing the solid sample.

• Condenser: Cools and condenses solvent vapors, allowing them to drip back into the chamber.

• Round Bottom Flask: Contains the solvent and is heated to generate vapor.

• Siphon Tube: Automatically returns the solvent extract to the flask when the chamber fills, allowing repeated cycles without manual intervention.

Working Principle:
The solvent in the round bottom flask is heated, vaporized, and condensed in the condenser. The condensed solvent continuously washes the sample in the extraction chamber, dissolving the desired compounds. When the chamber fills, the siphon tube empties the solvent back into the flask. This cycle repeats automatically until efficient extraction is achieved.
